“Although the spray paint medium is still present in this new body of work, I feel using new approaches and materials has allowed me a fresh dexterity and an opportunity to mature as a painter.”
David Walker’s much anticipated solo show makes its debut at Lawrence Alkin Gallery from November 17-December 9, 2017. “Half A World Passed By Me” will be composed of 20 new works featuring both male and female portraiture, figurative works, form and flora and poetic texts. Walker demonstrates his fearless creative expression for this show, focusing on male figures as a first and also working with a variety of new mediums. Walker also collaborated with multidisciplinary artist Yuli Gates combining painting with hand embroidery techniques. “Half A World Passed By Me” touches on more intimate details of the artist’s life where he aims to invite people into his world.
